The Volvo S40 is a small executive saloon, which covered the period between 1995 and 2012 in two generations, uniting Scandinavian engineering, modular building, and high-end features in a Swiss cheese-style four-door framework. The R-Design and T5 have been aimed at performance and style-conscious consumers. Transmission was available as 5- and 6-speed manuals and geartronic automatics. To add to this, in later models, they added emergency brake lights, blind spot information system (BLIS), and an internal air quality system, and also improved certain other designs, making them more approachable and safe.
