To take out the lock assembly, shut the tailgate, and unscrew the 2 screws in the handle aperture, unclips the inner trim panel. Find the lock at the back of the lock and loosen the connecting clip and disconnect the link rod. Take the holding bolts out and work on the lock out, and unhook the wiring connectors where necessary as they become available. In the case of the lock button assembly, the tailgate trim panel should be removed and then the screws should be undone to remove the number plate. Disassemble the main wiring connector of the tailgate light unit assembly, unscrew the nuts, disassemble the entire light unit assembly with its own rubber seal, and replace the seal, which is damaged. Unscrew the inner part of button link rod clip and take the central locking actuator rod out of the button then manipulate the lock button part with its rubber reward. During the refitting, reuse the same procedure as with the removal, the lock button must be properly aligned with the lock link rod before refitting the rear light unit. Ensure that link rods are clipped and turned, the lock/button works then replace the trim panel and light unit and make sure the tailgate is firmly closed and make any necessary adjustments to the lock striker.
