Disassemble the main wiring connector of the tailgate light unit assembly, unscrew the nuts, disassemble the entire light unit assembly with its own rubber seal, and replace the seal, which is damaged. During the refitting, reuse the same procedure as with the removal, the lock button must be properly aligned with the lock link rod before refitting the rear light unit. Ensure that link rods are clipped and turned, the lock/button works then replace the trim panel and light unit and make sure the tailgate is firmly closed and make any necessary adjustments to the lock striker.
