- Q: How to remove and refit the Trunk Lid Latch assembly and related components from the boot lid on Volvo S80?A:To remove the lock assembly, turn the fasteners anti-clockwise to remove the warning triangle from the trim panel and then release the clips to remove the boot inner trim panel. Next, undo the three bolts to remove the lock assembly, the wiring plug and lock cylinder operating cable being disconnected with it as it is pulled out. For the lock release button, open boot and remove inner trim panel and disconnect wiring plug and undo the four nuts to remove button/number plate assembly from boot lid. Undo the two screws if necessary to remove the button cover. To get access to the lock cylinder, remove the inner trim panel of the boot by opening it and remove the two retaining nuts to pull the cylinder assembly out of the boot lid. Slide off the outer cable from the cylinder housing and remove the inner cable fitting from the operating lever. Refitting is achieved by working backwards from the removal process.
