To remove the lock assembly, first open the boot lid and remove the fasteners by unscrewing the center screws slightly and pulling out the complete fastener and then removing the boot lid, inner trim panel. Next, prise out the inside section of the link rod clip to release the link rod from the lock button. After that, remove the retaining bolts and maneuver the lock out of position, disconnecting the wiring connector(s) as they become available. For lock button assembly, unclip the lock button central locking actuator link rod and slacken the retaining screw, pivot the support bracket away from the button. Remove the retaining nuts and remove the lock button surround panel from the outside of the boot lid, move the lock button assembly out of position. When refitting, work in the reverse order of removal and ensure that all the link rods are locked in position and adjusted correctly where possible. Check the functioning of the lock/button prior to replacement of trim panel, and make sure the lock is able to function and that the boot lid is held tight shut. If the need arises, adjustments can be made by slackening the screws and moving the lock striker slightly and then tightening the screws firmly when the striker is in the right position.
