How to remove the trunk lid latch interior trim panel on Volvo S40?

To take off the boot lid interior trim panel, first remove any plastic cover over the boot lock, if fitted. Next, disconnect the lock wiring plug, undo the 3 screws and then remove the lock from the tail gate by undoing the bolts of the boot lock. For the exterior handle, open the boot lid up and undo the 4 screws holding the door handle assembly in place and pull it out of its position disconnecting the wiring plug as the handle is pulled out.
