The bumpers are made up of several sections, and, once the bumpers assembly has been removed, the outer cover can be unclipped and the bumper dismantled, however, it is not known if the individual sections that the bumper is made up of are available individually. For front bumper removal in V70 models, open the bonnet and remove, if appropriate, the wiper arm securing nuts and washer supply hoses. Carefully prise the plastic trim strips off from underneath each headlamp and undo the retaining screws below the headlamps and remove the plastic expansion rivets on the top edge and underneath of the bumper. In the wheel arch, loosen the bumper side mounting screws until there are only three threads left in them and shift them forward to release the mounting. For models after 2004, undo the Torx screws which hold the bumper to the wing, remove the screws in the trim recess under the headlights and remove the plastic expansion rivets along the top edge of the bumper. With help, pull the bumper sides outwards slightly and remove the bumper from the vehicle disconnecting any wiring plugs and separating the hose at the quick release connector if fitted with headlight washers. For S80 models, open the bonnet, un-do wiper arm fixing nuts and un-do the side markers before prising out the plastic trim strips. For models prior to 2003, remove plastic expansion rivets and drill out rivets that hold the bumper onto the wheel-arch liner then undo the bolts and pull the bumper forward with help. For models after 2003, undo the screws that hold the bumper to the wing, remove plastic expansion rivets, and pull the bumper forward with wiring plugs. Refitting is a reverse of removal ensuring side mountings are properly engaged. For removal of the rear bumper on V70 models, remove battery, access panels, luggage compartment floor panel and tool tray, undo the bumper retaining nuts, and drill out the rivets holding the bumper to the wheel arch liner. For models after 2004, remove screws that hold the bumper to the wheel arch, undo the retaining nuts and remove plastic expansion rivets. With help, pull the bumper backwards and disconnect any wiring plugs. For S80 models, open the boot, fold up the carpet and remove the boot sill trim then undo the bumper retaining nuts and drill out rivets. Finally, refitting is an inverse of removal, to ensure proper engagement of side mountings.
