Disconnect wiring connectors from the headlight wiper motors, foglights and bumper sidelights, unclip the temperature sensor from the front of the bumper and dissemble the wiring from its retaining clips. For models in cold climate markets remove the fuse by air cleaner and disconnect the earth lead for engine block heater. Unscrew the screw holding each end of the bumper to the front wings. From underneath the car, take off the clips that hold the bottom of the bumper to the body of the car, and then take off the two bumper mounting bolts located directly behind each headlight. With the help of an assistant, drive the bumper assembly forwards and backwards away from the car, making sure that the wiring has been released from all relevant clips. Inspect the bumper mounting brackets and the reinforcement panel for signs of damage and renew if needed. Refitting is a reversal of the removal process, making sure that the bumper mounting bolts are tight (to the specified torque).
