To replace the halogen bulbs, open the vehicle's hood and secure the hood. If applicable remove the access cover to the headlight bulb and socket assembly. For bulbs with locking rings, twist and remove the ring, for bulbs without, twist the bulb socket and withdraw the assembly. Gently pry out the electrical connector's retaining clip if needed then remove the bulb and socket assembly. Before installing a new bulb always make sure all electrical contact surfaces are clean. Aligned the replacement assembly with the electrical connector and pushing it firmly until the spring clip latches. Activate the switch and see if the bulb lights up, if it doesn't troubleshoot the bulb circuit or switch. Position the new bulb and lock the locking ring if applicable and reinstall the access cover and close the hood. For sealed beam units, disconnect the battery cable, release the headlight trim, unfasten the screws holding the retainer and unplug the electrical connector. Following installation is in the reverse order. Proper aiming of headlights is very important to ensure safe illumination of the road and should be checked periodically, especially after bulb replacement or front-end work. A temporary adjustment can be made using a wall; park the vehicle on a level surface facing a wall and mark the low and high beam positions and make the adjustments to the beams accordingly. Make sure that the vehicle is in the same position during this process and have the adjustment checked by a professional as soon as possible.
