On 1978 models, the headlights project further forward to accommodate a new design of radiator grille, utilizing a spacer and mounting plate for this adjustment. The headlight beam can be adjusted by inserting a screwdriver into the cut-outs in the headlight trim. Rectangular headlights were introduced in 1979, and in 1981, they were modified along with the wrap-around direction indicators, with each unit being secured by four nuts. From 1981 onward, halogen type bulbs or sealed beam units have been progressively introduced.
