To remove the door mirror glass for models up to 2006, pivot the mirror glass into the housing as far as possible on the inside edge, then insert a blunt, flat-bladed tool between the inner edge of the glass and the housing, twisting the tool while pulling the outer edge of the glass rearwards to release the clips, taking care not to apply excessive force that could break the glass. Disconnect the wiring plugs as the glass is withdrawn. For the 2007 model year, push the lower edge of the glass into the housing, insert a blunt tool between the top edge of the glass and the housing to release the clip, and disconnect the wiring plugs as the glass is withdrawn. To refit the glass, reconnect the heating element wiring plugs. For models up to 2003, fold out the glass mounting on the motor, hook the glass into the mounting, and press it to engage the clips. For models from 2004 to 2006, align the mirror guides with the slots in the housing, hook the inside edge of the glass over the motor, and press it into position. For the 2007 model year, align the mirror guide with the slots in the housing, position the glass against the motor, and press it into place. To remove the door mirror motor, first remove the mirror cover, then undo the retaining screws or clips depending on the model year, and disconnect the wiring connector as it becomes accessible. Refitting is the reverse of removal. To remove the door mirror cover, first take off the mirror glass, then release the clip through an access hole if available, and carefully prise the cover from the mirror. Refitting is again the reverse of removal. For the complete door mirror unit, remove the door interior trim panel, disconnect the motor wiring and any applicable Blind Spot Information System wiring, support the mirror, undo the retaining nut, and withdraw the mirror from the door while releasing the rubber grommet. The camera is located in the door mirror lower cowl, and the warning light is situated on the triangular trim panel over the door mirror mounting nut, which can be removed following the procedure for door interior trim panel removal.

To remove a manual mirror, you have to pull off the control knob from the adjustment handle, unclip and remove the inner trim panel from the door, and undo the retaining bolts to remove the mirror. Recover the insulation between door and mirror, changing it if damaged and refit by reversing the removal procedure tightening the bolts to the specified force. For an electric mirror, starting with the removal of the door inner trim panel, unplug the mirror wiring connector, unscrew the holding bolts and remove the mirror, recover the insulation and renew if necessary, refit in reverse order with the correct torque. When dealing with the mirror glass, try to tilt it all the way in, use a screwdriver to loosen the holding clips and carefully remove the glass, being careful not to break it and wear gloves for safety. Upon refitting, reconnect any wiring and clip the glass back onto the motor/adjuster, putting force only on the middle to reduce the risk of breakage. For the electric motor of the mirror, first remove the glass, then unscrew the holding screws to remove the motor assembly while unscrewing the wiring as it is exposed, and when fitting it back in, firmly reconnect the wiring, seat the motor, screw it in place and replace the glass.
