On some later models, the exterior mirrors are remotely controlled from the interior of the car; DL and GL models have manual control, and GLE and Coupe models have an electrically operated control. The mounting components may vary slightly depending on the date of the production of the vehicle, but the general procedure is to remove the door trim panel and prise off the mirror trim cover. Next, remove the forked spring clip and unscrew the two retaining bolts to remove the mirror. To change the mirror glass, which can also be done without removing the mirror assembly, press the lower edge of the mirror glass inwards to expose the teeth through the hole in the lower part of the mirror housing, then prise the teeth to the right with a small screwdriver to remove mirror glass. Refitting is done backwards, and care is taken to prise the teeth to the left when fitting the glass.
