In the engine compartment, pull the exhaust pipe rearwards and secure it to one side, then detach the vacuum hoses from the turbocharger assembly, remove the turbocharger from the manifold studs, and lay it on top of the driveshaft and steering rack. Finally, maneuver the turbocharger downwards and away from the vehicle. For refitting, reverse the removal steps while ensuring to return any removed studs with their nuts to their original locations using suitable thread-locking compound, clean the mating faces of the turbocharger and manifold, use a new manifold gasket and new seals on all disturbed unions, tighten all fasteners to the specified torque, and refill the cooling system.
