  Disconnect the mass airflow meter wiring plug that's located on the air filter cover by depressing the clip. Release the clips, lift the cover upwards for access and remove the air filter. If more access is required, the cover can be entirely removed. Wipe clean inside the housing and cover with a cloth (take care not to sweep debris into the air inlet). Fit the new filter, making sure that it is oriented properly, and press the seal on the rim of the filter into the groove on the housing. Refit the cover and secure it with the clips, being careful to ensure that the three hinges locate correctly in the air filter housing as it can be difficult to refit the cover from the rear.

  For D5244 T to T3 engines, start by disconnecting the mass air flow meter wiring plug that is located in the air filter outlet. Next, loosen the retaining clamp and disconnect the outlet hose from the mass air flow meter. Release the clips at the front edge and lift the cover upwards and remove the air filter. Clean the inside of the housing and cover it with a cloth, just making sure that no debris gets into the air inlet. Install the new filter, making sure you install it the proper way up, and snap in the seal located on the rim into the groove located on the housing. Refit cover and secure with clips, taking care to make sure that the three hinges are in position in the air cleaner housing. Finally, connect the outlet hose again and tighten the clamp and reconnect the mass airflow meter wiring plug. For D5244 T4 to T7 engines, remove the cover over the ECM on the left hand side of the engine compartment and the Torx bolts, remove the air cleaner housing cover. Remove the air filter, making note of the part way it fits, and insert the new Air Filter. Refit the cover and tighten the Torx bolts prior to re-fitting the cover over the ECM.
