To remove and install the brake components for the 240 Series, first raise and hold the vehicle safely, remove the wheel(s) and the
Brake Caliper, which should be hung from the spring with wire. Next take out the two screws that hold the disc down and lift it off, perhaps tapping it with the soft faced hammer if needed. For installation, make sure the mating surfaces of the new disc are clean and dry, install the new disc and caliper with new mounting bolts to check the alignment of the caliper with the feeler gauges to make sure that the caliper is parallel with the disc. Install the brake pads ensuring the disc rotates freely, secure the disc with screws, reinstall the wheels, lower the vehicle and check the brake pedal function. For the 700 Series, 900 Series, S90 and V90 models, follow the same steps: Raise the vehicle, remove the wheels, caliper and brake pads, hang the disc to protect the hose, if the disc is stuck, tap it off with a plastic mallet. clean the axle shaft flange and then install the new disc and tighten the locating stud before reinstalling the caliper and brake pads, then the wheels and lower the vehicle. For the 850, S70, C70, and V70 Series: Elevate the vehicle, remove the wheels, brake pads, brake caliper, disconnecting the brake line, then loosen the parking brake adjuster and remove the disc. Clean the face of the hub looking for damage and run out and replace the hub if necessary. Install the new brake disc and guide pin bolt, tighten it, then reinstall the caliper and pads with new bolts, reconnect the brake line, adjust the parking brake, reinstall the wheels, lower the vehicle and test the brake function. Inspect the brake rotor for scoring and wear and replace or machine it if heavy wear is visible, and remove any glaze with medium grit sandpaper. Ensure the thickness of the rotor meet the minimum requirement indicated on rotor and can not be corrected by grinding it must be replaced, rotor lateral run-out: not exceed 0.001 in. (0.035mm).
