To access the door internal trim panel on V70 models to remove the front window regulator/motor, lower the window until it is approximately halfway, remove the door inner trim panel, and carefully remove the door sealing panel, cutting the sealant if required. If a riveted bracket is in the way of the sealing panel, drill out a rivet to raise the panel. Remove the plastic cover from the inner door frame to go to the front regulator lift arm and then prise out the two retaining clips and use a screwdriver to disconnect the regulator arm balljoints from the window lift channels. Raise the window and tape it in position with adhesive tape. As required for S80 models, remove door window glass. For all models, drill out four rivets to maneuver the regulator assembly from the door frame (disconnect motor wiring as it is withdrawn) and if necessary, undo screws to separate the motor from the regulator assembly. Refitting means reversing the steps of removal, and ensuring that new rivets are fitted in order, and the window position is initialized by moving the window down fully and up its limit positions, keeping in mind that the models from 2003 will self-lower about 10cm before closing fully on initialization. For the rear window regulator/motor, lower the window halfway down, remove the door inner trim panel, and remove the door sealing panel cutting through the sealant as required. Drill out two rivets or undo bolts holding the regulator in place on the window lift channel and then raise the window and hold it fully closed with adhesive tape. The regulator is fitted to the door frame with two rivets at the bottom and one nut at the top, drill out the rivets, take off the nut and it you can manipulate the regulator assembly out with the wiring plug off. Check with a dealer on the availability of the motor separately from the regulator. Refitting is the opposite of removal, making sure that the trim of the door works correctly before reattaching it. For front door window glass removal, lower the window halfway down, remove the door inner trim panel and remove the door sealing panel cutting through the sealant if necessary. Carefully remove the window inner sealing strip, prise off the plastic cover at the front of the door and remove the retaining clips to uncouple the regulator arm balljoints from the window lift channels. Lift the rear edge of the glass first and maneuver it upwards and out of the door frame and recover the plastic inserts from the window lift channels. Refitting is the opposite process. For replacing rear door window glass, lower the window half way, remove the door inner trim panel and door sealing panel, cutting away sealant as necessary. Remove the rubber strip in the window guide channel using a flat-bladed tool, unscrew the screw fixing the lower edge of the rear window guide channel, and remove the window guide channel. Finally, undo the nuts/bolts or drill out rivets that hold the glass to the regulator and maneuver the glass from the door as refitting is the reverse of removal.
