To remove the outer handle, first disconnect the battery negative lead on models with the keyless entry system, then prise out the rubber grommet from the end of the door. Undo the Torx screw in the grommet aperture a maximum of 5 complete turns, and pull out the lock cylinder, outer handle, and rubber seal from the door. For models with the keyless entry system, pull the outer handle wiring plug forwards and secure it before disconnecting to avoid losing the connector inside the door. Refitting is the reverse of removal. The removal of the front door lock cylinder is part of the outer door handle removal procedure. To remove the front door lock assembly, lower the front window by approximately 290mm, disconnect the battery negative lead, and remove the door window by sliding it fully upwards and taping it in position. Remove the outer door handle, disconnect the door mirror wiring plug, and remove the 3 Torx bolts securing the lock mechanism along with the single Torx screw at the base of the glass guide. Undo the Torx screw securing the outer door handle frame and the 9 screws securing the door cassette assembly. Prise up the locking catch and disconnect the wiring plug from the door, then reach inside the door frame to slide up the plastic catch and push the connector into the door. Manoeuvre the cassette assembly from the door, remove the lock button, disconnect the lock wiring plug, and the interior handle release cable from the lock mechanism. Drill out the rivet at the base of the mechanism, unclip the outer handle mechanism from the cassette, and disconnect the 2 release cables. Unhook the lock mechanism and manoeuvre it from the cassette assembly, with refitting being a reversal of the removal procedure. For the rear door lock assembly, lower the rear window by approximately 150mm, disconnect the battery negative lead, and remove the door window by sliding it fully upwards and taping it in position. Remove the outer door handle, undo the Torx screw securing the outer handle frame, and remove the 3 Torx bolts securing the lock mechanism. Undo the 8 screws securing the door cassette assembly, peel back the rubber gaiter to detach the lock button, and disconnect the door wiring plug from the pillar before pressing the harness into the door. Manoeuvre the cassette assembly from the door, disconnect the lock wiring plug, and the interior handle release cable from the lock mechanism. Drill out the rivet at the base of the mechanism, disconnect the outer handle release cable, and unhook the lock mechanism from the cassette assembly, with refitting being a reversal of the removal procedure. Both the front and rear interior handles are integral with the door trim panels and are not available separately.
