To remove the radiator, first drain the cooling system, then remove the radiator cooling fan. For turbocharged engines, release the clamps and disconnect the charge air pipes from the intercooler. On all models, release the clamps and disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses. Next, undo the screws securing the radiator to the bonnet slam panel and the two upper radiator retaining bolts. Working underneath the vehicle, undo the two bolts, release the clips, and remove the air baffle assembly under the radiator. For automatic transmission models, disconnect the fluid cooler lines from the left-hand side tank, being prepared for fluid spillage and plugging or capping the lines to keep dirt out. At the front edge of the subframe, undo the cable ducting retaining screws, then disconnect the wiring plug from the pressure switch on the top of the air conditioning receiver and the wiring harness from the holder on the right-hand side of the radiator. Secure the condenser to the vehicle body using cable ties or similar, then undo the two retaining bolts at the lower edge of the radiator. Next, undo the bolts securing the radiator and intercooler (if fitted), and maneuver the radiator (and intercooler where applicable) downwards, releasing the clamp and disconnecting the expansion tank hose as the radiator is withdrawn. When refitting, reverse the removal operations, refill the cooling system upon completion, and top up the automatic transmission fluid and engine oil where applicable.
