How to remove and refit Windshield Wiper Arms on Volvo S70?

To remove the wiper arm, first lift, or prise, off the cover if it has one and unscrew and remove the nut from the base of the wiper arm. Next pull the arm off the splines using a twisting motion to essentially let it go. If the wiper arms do not come off, refit the nut loosely and use slip joint pliers to the end of the wiper arm and to the spindle to free the splines. For refitting, energise the relevant wiper, and then turn it off to ensure the motor and linkage is parked. Position the driver's side wiper arm 35 mm from the top edge of the cowl panel, the passenger's side arm 45 mm from the edge of the panel and ensure that the tailgate wiper arm is horizontal.
