Turn the crankshaft around so that No. 1 cylinder is at top-dead-centre. Place the flywheel or drive plate on the crankshaft in such a position that pin A is about 15o away from the horizontal and faces away from the starter motor mounting, there are two pins A and B. Fit the retaining bolts and tighten them to a torque of 53 lb ft (7 kg m). Install the input shaft bearing, which should be packed with grease, together with the retaining washer and the circlip, and then install the reinforcing bracket. Refit the clutch disc and pressure plate assembly and lightly fit it in position using its bolts, making sure that clutch disc is marked to identify the side that fits towards the flywheel. Carefully position the disc in line with the input bearing, preferably with the input shaft from the gearbox or a mandrel with the same diameter as the disc hub and a spigot fitting in the pilot bearing. Once the clutch disc is properly aligned tighten the clutch assembly securing bolts in stages and use a diagonal and progressive manner.
