  Once you have switched on the ignition, without starting the engine, do the following. Disconnect the lead at the micro-switch (the lead that is connected to the micro-switch and the solenoid valve) and connect a test lamp in series between the disconnected lead and the terminal of the micro-switch. Release the locknut on the throttle plate stop screw and move away from the screw to prevent interference with the throttle adjustment so that the test light will not light up. Adjust the throttle plate stop screw until it makes contact with the stop and then turn it another half turn before tightening the locknut, checking that the throttle plate is free and not sticking open. Insert a 0.060 in (1.5 mm) feeler gauge under the throttle stop screw during adjustment of the micro-switch as you keep the test light off. Screw in the micro-switch screw until the light comes on and a click is heard, then tighten the locknut and remove the feeler gauge before replacing the micro-switch lead. To check the adjustment, place a 0.056 in (1.4 mm) feeler gauge underneath the throttle plate stop screw and make sure the test light remains on and place a 0.072 in (1.8 mm) feeler gauge underneath the stop screw and the light should go off.
