How to remove and renew the brush holder and regulator module of alternator on 2009 Volvo S40?

Remove the alternator and position it pulley-side down. Undo the cover and lift it off and take the brush holder out. Check the condition of brushes & slip-rings for wear; replace the alternator if damaged. Refit the brush holder and fasten it, and reinstall the protective cover and alternator.
