What precautions should be taken when removing and refitting the harmonic balancer for 1.8 and 2.0 litre petrol engines on 2008 Volvo S40?

Turning the engine in a clockwise direction only. Be sure to make it at TDC before removing the harmonic balancer - stuck on with a tight retaining bolt. Have a special tool to lock the balancer. Remove auxiliary drive belts, lock the crankshaft, and unscrew the bolt. Refit new bolt and specified torque.
