To remove the front suspension strut, first loosen the appropriate front wheel bolts, chock the rear wheels, apply the handbrake, jack up the front of the car and support it on axle stands before removing the roadwheel. Then, remove the ABS wheel sensor from the hub carrier and unbolt the sensor wiring from the suspension strut or hub carrier bracket. Undo the retaining nut to separate the anti-roll bar connecting link from the bracket on the suspension strut using a Torx key to counterhold the nut and discard the retaining nut as a new one must be fitted. For models with Four-C active suspension remove the position sensor from the shock absorber and set it aside. Measure the distance from the outside edge of the hub carrier mounting lug to the back of the shock absorber with vernier calipers to maintain the camber setting when reassembling the vehicle. Place a jack under the suspension control arm and raise it to bear the weight of the suspension assembly. In the engine compartment, trace the wires from the suspension strut to the connector and unplug the connector.
