How to remove and refit a vacuum pump on 2004 Volvo S40?

To remove the vacuum pump from diesel engines, remove the plastic cover, disconnect hoses and undo bolts. For 1.6 engine remove two bolts for 2.0 release the EGR pipe clamp and fuel pipe. For 5-cylinder engines, remove the battery. Refit with new O-rings, including proper alignment and torque.
