Pack the bearing with grease and fit the axle shaft into the axle casing holding it in a horizontal position and turning it slightly in both directions until the splines at its inner end match those of the differential side gears. Refit the bolts holding the backplate and retaining ring, tightening them to the correct torque. Refit the brake mechanism and bleed the brakes.
