To remove the wiper motor and linkage, turn the wipers on and off to make sure they are parked. Next, remove the arms of the windscreen wipers and open the bonnet to remove the plastic panels of trim on the front lower corners of the windscreen by prising out the clips. Then, push in the centre pins and lever out the four plastic rivets holding the scuttle trim panel in place taking care to catch the easily lost centre pins. Connect the wiper motor wiring plug, undo the bolts and remove the linkage/frame assembly. Then mark the position of the motor crank arm in relation to the frame, undo the nut and remove the motor crank arm. Remove the motor by undoing the three retaining bolts Remember the frame and linkage arms are a one-piece assembly. For refitting, you need to secure the motor to the frame using the three bolts and if a motor is a new one, you need to temporarily reconnect the wiring connectors, switch on the motor and then switch it off (to make sure it is parked). Line up the crank arm with the marks made during removal, hold the crank arm in a spanner to stop it turning and tighten the nut. If a new frame and linkage are being fitted, set the motor to the park position and hook up the crank arm so that it is parallel with the linkage arm above. Finally, reassemble the pieces you just took down by doing the opposite of what you just did.
