To remove the components, first remove the cable tie holding the servo hose in place on the engine cross-stay, if applicable. Next, undo the nuts or bolts to remove the engine cross-stay from the front suspension turrets. Pull the plastic engine cover straight up and force it out of the engine compartment. Remove the fuel injectors and high-pressure fuel pipes, and release the clamp that holds the crankcase ventilation hose to the camshaft cover. Remove the hose bracket from the
Cylinder Head by unscrewing it and loosen the clamps and release the intake hose from the intake manifold. For 05244 T4 to T7 engines, slacken the clamp to remove the breather hose from the oil separator, slacken the banjo bolt and turn the fuel return pipe away from the camshaft cover. Remove the upper/rear engine mounting bracket by undoing the bolts, disconnect the required wiring plugs and place the wiring harness out of the way after removing the cable duct screws. Undo the screws to remove the camshaft cover, disposing of the old gasket and making sure that the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and camshaft cover are cleaned thoroughly without damage. For refitting, do the reverse of removing, so that new gaskets are properly seated on the cylinder head for 05244 T to T3 engines; rubber sealing gasket is left in place for 05244 T4 to T7 engines. Finally, tighten camshaft cover retaining nuts to specified torque beginning from the center and working outward.
