Volvo V70 Fuel Injector

The Volvo V70 Fuel Injector injects the engine cylinders with the required amount of fuel accurately and provides the wagon with power which responds and burns efficiently. Each injector is controlled by the engine control module on demand so that the air-fuel mixture remains optimal in every throttle setting, an electronic solution that completely substituted the outdated carburetor systems by the early 1990s. During Volvo development, this change improved the driving capability and reduced the emissions. In the majority of versions of this system on the popular Volvo estate, pressure control occurs at the pump or ECM instead of a line returning to the tank, reducing weight and eliminating the number of fuel hoses beneath the hood. Over the time of production, two major strategies of spraying have emerged. In indirect or manifold injection, usually a multi-point injection, the fuel is injected directly above the intake valve, with more recent designs directing fuel directly into the combustion chamber, where it is more thermodynamically efficient. The Fuel Injector is based on controlled pressurizing and bursts to develop clean burns in petrol and diesel trims, regardless of style. The problems are common ones like clogs, internal drips, or being stuck open or closed, with the problem being able to take away the performance of the Volvo or even cause engine damage. The awareness of such trends assists the owners of the second model in the V70 generation to value the fact that a healthy Fuel Injector is protecting them with smooth start-ups, powerful acceleration, and reliable mileage.

OEM parts are the only choice for top quality and real functionality. They pass strict checks, and they match Volvo's factory specs, so installation is easy. Volvo V70 Fuel Injector Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What precautions should be taken with Fuel Injectors when removing and refitting them on Volvo V70?
    A:
Be careful to not get dirt in the injection pump or injector pipes during this procedure! The first step in this process is to remove the plastic cover from the top of the engine. For D5244 T to T3 engines, release the clamps and remove the charge air hose that is connected to the intake manifold, remove the crankcase breather hose from the cylinder head cover, pull the connectors from the glow plugs, and make sure the areas around the high-pressure fuel pipe unions are clean. Undo unions and take off high-pressure fuel lines, discard them and get ready for fuel spillage by plugging ports. Disconnect the fuel return hoses from the injectors, take note of their location and disconnect the injector wiring plugs. Unscrew the screws holding each injector clamp in place, remove the injectors, removing the sealing washers and other parts, marking injectors for identification if they are to be refitted. For D5244 T4 to T7 engines, remove the cross-stay between the suspension turrets, ensure the rubber shield over the fuel injectors is removed and ensure cleanliness around the high-pressure fuel pipe unions. Follow similar steps to remove the high pressure fuel pipes, disconnect the return hoses and wiring plugs, unscrew the injector clamps and recover the metal washers. Store injectors in an upright position if they are to be refitted. During refitting, make sure injectors and seats are clean and install new parts, tightening screws evenly. Install new high pressure pipes and tighten unions to specified torque, followed by the injector retaining screws. Check the condition of fuel return hoses including 'Class' identification number for D5244 T to T3 engines and software updates to be carried out for new injectors for D5244 T to T7 engines. Finally, step on the accelerator pedal and start the engine, checking for fuel leaks after running at fast idle to purge trapped air.
