To remove the components, start by disconnecting the air intake pipe from the connection above the radiator by twisting it up. For petrol models, undo the carbon canister purge valve from the radiator shroud. Next, remove the air pipe from the control module box, if applicable. On turbocharged engines, loosen the clamps, and remove the charge air pipe or charge air hose on the right hand side, using a hot air gun in cold weather to soften the air hose if needed. Remove the boost pressure sensor from the front plate for petrol turbocharged models. Release the wiring looms from the upper part and the right-hand side of the fan shroud and lift the coolant expansion hose off the clips at the top of the fan shroud. Disconnect the fan motor wiring plugs and in the case of automatic transmission models, disconnect the upper oil cooler pipe from the radiator, being ready for spills of fluid and clogging the openings to prevent dirt from getting in. Undo the fan shroud retaining bolts and remove the fan shroud and fan assembly from its position. Finally, extricate the cable and connector from the shroud, remove the screws and remove the fan motor and control unit. For refitting, backwards from removal, making sure to align the shroud with the holes at the side of the radiator, top up the automatic transmission fluid if applicable.
