  To remove the air cleaner assembly, first, slacken the clamp and disconnect the air outlet hose from the mass airflow meter on the air cleaner housing, along with the meter wiring plug. Next, detach the wiring loom from the front of the air cleaner housing and note the fitted positions before disconnecting the vacuum hoses from the rear. Pull the hot air hose and inlet hose from the side of the air cleaner housing, then pull the housing upwards to release it from the mountings. For the air ducts, all ducting is retained by either simple snap fit connectors or hose clips, with routing varying between normally-aspirated and turbo models; removal is straightforward and self-explanatory, but accessing the lower ducts requires the removal of the air cleaner assembly. To refit, reverse the removal operations.
