Removing the fan shroud and motor assembly, the first step is to disconnect the battery negative lead. Next, remove the air cleaner inlet duct and ECU module box air duct on each side of the fan shroud. For vehicles with exhaust gas recirculation, disconnect the two hoses at the EGR controller, noting where they are. Then, reverse the two bolts on each side holding the fan shroud and relay carrier to the front body panel. Lift up the relay carrier and disconnect the wiring connectors to the fan, setting the carrier to the side. If the car is a turbo model then remove the intercooler air duct from above the fan shroud. Raise the shroud upwards to discard the 2 lower locating pegs and remove the shroud and fan from the vehicle. Finally, undo the 4 bolts to remove the motor and fan guard assembly from the shroud because these parts are not available separately. For refitting, reverse the removal steps, making sure that the lower locating pegs are contacting the bottom of the
Radiator in the process.
