In order to remove the components, first perform the necessary operations. Lower the jack under the trailing arm slowly until all the tension is taken out of the spring and remove the jack. Next, undo the nut holding the spring lower mounting to the trailing arm and raise out the spring, lower mounting, bump stop and upper seat from where it is located. Examine all components for wear or damage, renew as necessary. For refitting purposes, find the bump stop, spring, upper seat and lower mounting in place and refit the nut to the lower mounting and tighten to the indicated torque. Raise the trailing arm with the jack and insert the upper end of the spring in its recess in the body. Finally, refit the shock absorber mountings in reverse order, ensuring all of the nuts and bolts are tightened to the specified torque.
