To remove and install the oil pump on different types of engines, disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the engine oil. For the 2.3L (B230F and B230FT) engine, remove the
Oil Pan and the oil pump retaining bolts and remove the oil pump and delivery tube. When installing, lubricate new sealing rings with engine oil, fit the pump with the delivery tube and make a good alignment before tightening the bolts and reattaching the oil trap drain hose. For 2.3L (B234F) engine, after draining coolant and oil, remove
Timing Belt and oil pump drive and clean it, install a new seal and oil pump, lubricate it with clean engine oil before tightening the tight bolts. In the 2.8L 6-cylinder engine the oil pump is integral with the cylinder block so remove the necessary components to gain access to the oil pump, prime the pump with clean oil before fitting it. For the 2.9L 6-cylinder engine, once the fluids have been drained and the components have been removed, clean the mating surfaces and then install the new oil pump with a new gasket and the bolts tightened. In the case of the 2.3L and 2.4L 5 cylinders engines, turn off the battery, empty the oil container and take off the necessary covers and belts to be able to work inside the oil pump, and carefully pry it out and install it, taking care to tighten the bolts correctly. After completing the installation for all the engines, fill with oil and coolant, reconnect the battery, and check the engines for leaks.
