    To remove and install the brake parts, to remove the brake parts, the parking brake cable must be adjusted first to release the tension. Then, lift and firmly brace the vehicle. Remove the brake line-to-axle clamp if necessary, and remove the caliper without crimping the hoses and lines. Remove the disc without removing the hub, and use brake spring pliers to remove one of the retaining springs of the shoe assembly. Carefully remove the shoes, observing the location of the adjuster. For installation, be on the lookout for hydraulic leaks, worn parts and wear on the contact surface of the brake shoes. Clean all hardware/surfaces and the backing plate with brake cleaner. Buckle up the shoes using one spring and install on the vehicle and the other retaining spring. Position the adjuster and align the shoes to reinstall the disc and install the brake disc making sure the brake disc turns freely. Re-attach the brake caliper with new retaining bolts with a torque of 42 ft. lbs. (57 Nm) and reinstall the brake line to axle clamp where needed. Adjust the brake shoes (except for the 700 series) and then the cable, then re-install the wheels. Lower the vehicle and check the emergency brake to check it is holding properly, adjust the cables if necessary to ensure that full braking effect is achievable within 3-5 notches after adjustment.
