Trailing arms are unique to the 850 series. Start by jacking up and firmly supporting the car. Next it is to undo the brake line and the ABS speed sensor wiring bracket on the right rear trailing arm, so as to remove the wheels. Proceed to remove the
Shock Absorbers and springs, and then the
Sway Bar. Place a jack or appropriate tool underneath the left trailing arm and lift it to release the trailing arm mounting. Press the right leading arm away from the left leading arm and remove the right leading arm body mounting bolts before removing the right leading arm. If necessary, remove the left side trailing arm body mounting bolts and take out the left side trailing arm. For installation, first install new trailing arm mountings, align the left/right trailing arms and tighten mountings to 59 ft. lbs. 80 Nm. Tighten the trailing arm-to-body bolts to specified torque, 78 ft. lbs. (105 Nm) more 90deg angle tighten for the bolt through the trailing arm bracket and rear axle link, 48 ft. lbs. (65 Nm) more 60deg angle tighten for the bracket bolts. Reinstall the sway bar, springs, and shock absorbers, then the brake line and the ABS wiring bracket. Finally, place the wheels back on and bring the vehicle down.
