  To remove and install components for the 240 Series, raise and safely support the vehicle first by removing the front wheels. Remove the Brake Caliper and suspend it from the spring with wire and then remove the two screws holding the disc. Lift the disc off, tapping gently with a soft headed hammer if necessary. For installation, make sure the mating surfaces on the new disc and hub are clean and dry, and install the caliper using new mounting bolts, ensuring that the distance between the disc and caliper support stubs is no more than 0.001 in. (0.0013mm) by using feeler gauges to check the alignment of the caliper. Install the brake pads, making sure the disc rotates freely and fix the disc with screws, put the wheels back on and test the function of the brake pedals before driving. For the 700 Series, 900 Series, S90 and V90 models, the process starts in a similar way with raising the vehicle and removing the wheels, removing the caliper and brake pads, hanging the caliper to prevent damage to the hose, and removing the wheel pin guide and brake disc. Clean up the hub flange and ABS components, and ensure mating surfaces are clean and reinstall the guide pin and tighten it, and then measure the disc run-out and install the caliper carrier, caliper and brake pads. After working on the brake pedal and checking fluid levels, install the wheels again and check brake function - hard braking should be avoided for the first 500 miles (800 km). For 850, 870, C70 and V70 Series vehicles, jack the car up, remove the car's wheels, caliper, brake pads and carrier, break the guide pin bolt and rotor, cleaning the hub flange. Check hub run-out with a gage ring, replacing hub if run-out is more than 0.0007 in. (0.020mm). For installation, secure brake rotor, tighten guide pin bolt, install brake rotor guide pin, install caliper and brake pads, depress brake pedal to check fluid levels, reinstall wheels and check brake function. Inspect the brake rotor for scoring and wearing, replacing or machining the brake rotor if there is heavy damage, and remove glaze with medium number sandpaper. Make sure that no minimum thickness of the rotor is exceeded, and the lateral run out should be checked and make sure that it is not more than 0.001 in. (0.035mm).
