    Make sure that both the cylinder block and cylinder head mating faces are perfectly clean. Lubricate each cylinder with engine oil. Always use a new cylinder head gasket as the old gasket will be compressed and will be unable to give a good seal; DDo not smear grease or gasket cement on either side of the gasket. The right way up, carefully aligning the gasket with the bolt holes.
