2011 Volvo V50 Piston Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and reassemble pistons and connecting rods on 2011 Volvo V50?
A: For 1.8 and 2.0 litre engines the crankshaft and pistons do not remove separately; exchange units contain these parts. Remove the cylinder head, oil pump and flywheel and check for wear. For 1.6 litre engines, the piston removal is similar, take care of the proper orientation and clean the piston before re-assembling the engine. Check for damage and replace worn parts when necessary.
