How to remove the steering column on 2009 Volvo S40?

To remove the steering column, disconnect the battery, extend the steering column and remove the steering wheel. Remove the lower facia, knee bolster and air duct. Remove the shrouds, switches and contact reel. Disconnect wiring, undo the pinch-bolt and remove the column. Refit by working backwards, making sure to lubricate and position the bolts correctly.
