How to renew the fuel filter for diesel engines on 2004 Volvo V70?

Before renewing the fuel filter, make sure that the tank is less than 3/4 full. Drain fluid from the filter, and then remove it with a strap wrench. Put in the new filter, with clean diesel on the seal. Check to be sure tight and start the engine checking for any leaks.
