The Volvo C40 Recharge is the first fully electric car of Volvo, consisting of an up-to-date EV technology and the elegance of a coupe. Riding on the XC40 platform, and excluding relatively few elements of its cabin, powertrain, and chassis, the Volvo C40 Recharge differentiates itself with a dynamic, sloping roofline, pixelated LED headlights, closed-off grille, and aero-optimized wheels to give a more modern and refined look. The battery arrangement allows the C40 Recharge to accelerate to 60 mph in only 4.7 seconds, and has its top speed electronically controlled to 112 mph. Subsequent models added a rear-wheel drive and single-motor system to enhance efficiency. The C40 Recharge has DC fast charging to 150 kW, will charge to 80 percent in around 40 minutes, and will support standard 110 V and 220 V home outlets. Its range can be estimated to 226 miles by EPA, and the curb weight is 2,149 kg (4,738 lbs). There is 4,431 mm in length, 1,863 mm in width, 1,582 mm in height and the same XC40 wheelbase of 2,702 mm. This is a characteristic of safety with a high Euro NCAP ratings and IIHS good ratings in all crash categories. The interior is also a luxury, with a digital gauge cluster, panoramic sunroof and vegan-friendly materials, which supports the sustainability agenda of Volvo.
