Volvo V50 Hood Latch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and refit the Hood Latch on Volvo V50?
    A:
Removing the front Bumper - To remove the front bumper, you must first undo the three bolts and remove the plastic trim attached to the hood latch slam panel. Then remove the fixings and fold down the upper air baffle. Remove the latch by detaching the release cable and wiring plug from the latch, and undoing the two latch retaining bolts. For refitting, reverse the removal process, making sure to only finger tighten the latch retaining bolts in the beginning. Once you have shut off the hood latch to centralize the catch, securely tighten the retaining bolts.
