Removal of the headlight unit, whilst not necessary, makes the process easier, particularly at the time of refitting. Start off by disconnecting the wiring connector at the beam control motor at the back of the headlight unit. Next, rotate the plastic bulb cover next to the motor clockwise to remove it, and the motor to rotate clockwise to open the attachment of the bayonet fitting. Angle the motor downwards to let the motor shaft exit the top of the slot in the rear of the headlight reflector, and remove the motor by angling the motor downwards and breaking its shaft, For refitting, rotate the beam height control adjuster on the motor anti-clockwise so that the motor shaft is fully extended, and light lubrication is done on the end of the motor shaft using medium grease. Through the bulb aperture at the back of the headlight, hold the headlight reflector while engaging the motor shaft to the slot in the back of the reflector. Lock the bayonet attachment by turning the motor anti-clockwise and re-connect the wiring connectors and test the motor. Finally, refit the cover to the rear of the headlight and have the beam adjustment basic setting checked and adjusted by a dealer or specialist, if necessary.
