  A: To replace the right-hand oil seal, first remove the crankshaft sprocket. The seal can be renewed without removing the oil pump by drilling a small hole, inserting a self-tapping screw, pulling on the head of the screw with pliers, taking care not to damage the surface of the crankshaft. Protect the crankshaft with adhesive tape around the end and dip the new seal in oil and drive the seal into the oil pump housing with a block of wood or a socket until it is flush (still making sure the closed end is facing outwards). After removing the tape, reapply timing belt and crankshaft sprocket. For the left-hand oil seal, the flywheel or driveplate is removed, the clean surfaces of the block and the crankshaft are cleaned, a hole is drilled, a self-tapping screw is inserted, and the old seal is pulled out and the new seal is fitted.
