How to remove and refit the Hood Release Cable on 2004 Volvo V40?

To remove the hood release cable, unbolt the lock, apply the handbrake and remove the driver's side wheel. Remove the wheel arch liner, free the cable and remove the lower facia panel. Disconnect the release lever and withdraw the cable and refit, properly routing and securing. Finally check the lock operation and reassemble.
