Take off the valve cover and position engine to firing position of cylinder No. 1. Measure clearance of the valve: cold engine ( 0. 012in-0. 018in) and warm engine ( 0. 014in-0. 020in). Tilting with the help of the appropriate thickness washers. Repeat for cylinders 3, 4, and 2. Lastly, install the seal, gasket and valve cover.
